Perennials
Perennials are essential for a truly seasonal garden, and offer real value for money over the years. Although we stock a smaller amount throughout the winter months (though this is when hellebores come to the fore), our strongest range is through the spring and summer season. Again, as well as stocking the traditional favourites, we are always on the lookout for the more unusual, and source plants from a variety of nurseries, as well as propagating some ourselves. We stock plants suitable for many different styles of garden and planting, including woodland and bog gardens.

Bamboo
We stock a wide range of small, medium and specimen sizes of bamboos to suit all situations. Bamboos thrive in the Irish climate and can be used as specimen plants, as well as screens. We will be happy to advise you on the best bamboo for your situation and style of garden.

Shrubs
We source our shrubs from a number of different nurseries, as well as propagating a small number ourselves. Our shrub display is divided into simple to use areas – ‘dwarf’ (up to 1m high) and ‘large’ (1m and above), as well as a section for acid-soil plants. We stock many popular lines, as well as the more unusual shrubs, and always aim to have as complete a range as possible, not just shrubs that look good that month.

Hedging
The main reasons for growing a hedge are to mark the boundary of a property and to give privacy but they can serve may other purposes such as bringing wildlife to your garden and providing shelter for flower beds.
From November to March we supply a comprehensive range of native bareroot hedging. We do hold some here at the garden centre, but generally, as numbers are so high and deliveries so frequent, we order specific to customer. If you require a quote on larger quantities or would like to place an order, please contact us by email or phone. We can also advise on the right hedge for your location, as well as planting distances etc. We also stock and can supply potted hedging, including escallonia, laurel, griselinia, leylandii, berberis and holly.

Roses
We source our roses from a top Irish rose nursery, run by a nurseryman who is passionate about roses, and it shows! We stock a range of hybrid teas, floribundas, species, shrub and old roses, ground cover, patio, climbers, ramblers and scramblers. In November we can provide roses bare-root, the rest of the year they are containerised. We will happily give advice on choosing the right rose for the right situation.

Fruit
We stock a range of both top fruit and soft fruit. Throughout the year we sell a wide range of apple trees (including traditional and old Irish varieties), pear, plum and cherry. We also stock more unusual trees such as Medlar, Quince and old varieties of plum and damson, and if we don’t have what you are looking for in stock, we can generally source it for you. Our soft fruit range includes blackcurrants, white and red currants, gooseberries, josterberry, worcesterberry, blueberry, raspberry, rhubarb and strawberry.

Trees
We stock a wide variety of containerised trees, ranging from small to larger specimens. As well as more popular varieties, we also stock and can source more unusual varieties. We also supply bare-root trees during the season (Nov – March). Should you require any tree surgery we would recommend Dermot Casey Tree Care.

Alpines
Our wide range of alpines will add a splash of colour to your troughs and rockeries where the beautiful displays they create can be fully appreciated. They may be small but they produce a beautiful display.

Heathers
All heathers are sourced from a heather specialist nursery, and are available in handy multi-packs (great for containers and baskets) as well as 1 and 1.5L established plants. We stock a wide range, including callunas and ericas, and will be happy to advise on the most suitable plants for your garden.
